The Great Kingdom of Vallonde

The Great Kingdom of Vallonde, though a single state, consists of six individual vassal states – Windar, Kuri, Mobe, Amanear, Qhyten, and Flowzidge – united together against the Erelian Empire. The King of Vallonde, Ered IX, rests in the most powerful state, Windar, and the rest of the states serve as independent states who merely provide money and army resources to fight the Empire.

The nation of Vallonde is surrounded by the Erelian Empire to the east and west, and other nations to the east and west as well – it primarily is located on the northern and southern regions of the world, with the center being taken up by the Empire. Its interior consists of distinct geographical regions related to each vassal state. The states of Windar and Kuri are located on Plains; Flowzidge and Qyhten in Forests; Amanear in Mountains; and Mobe in a desert near the Forlonde Wastelands. The Sasparin Sea and other small bodies of water are also scattered throughout it.

History and Culture

Vallonde was an alliance formed between six vassal states: Windar, Kuri, Mobe, Amanear, Qhyten, and Flowzidge. These states consist of a central capital ruied by a feudal lord, surrounded by merchants and businessmen in the capital, and large populations of serfs toiling in the field.

The alliance, formed in 5000, was made to challenge the Erelian Empire. The empire was seen as a threat to the Human vassal states, and as such, the Human ruled states formed an alliance to go against it. However, much of the states did not change, raising vassal troops from unwilling serfs and fighting a losing battle with outdated technologies. As time went on, the Kingdoms troops were reduced so far that it was forced to fight on the defensive – and since the Empire cared more about Thaczil, it survived; but should the Empire ever turn its eye on Vallonde, the Human kingdoms have ended.

Demographics and Biodiversity

The leadership of Vallonde primarily consists of Humans, ruled by Ered IX of Winder, and with 5 other human lords of the vassal states.

A majority of the population is also human, with 60% being Human, and 40% being split among other “Good” races nearly equally. “Evil” races, such as orcs, goblins, and other beings – as well as mixed race beings for most types, including half-elves – are often killed on sight by the military. However, much of the population is apathetic to this unless they are being directly harmed, and will go along their way regardless.

As for wildlife in the lands, nearly every species of mindless monster found in Ellonde can be located, land or seas; and most of these monsters roam freely, desecrating towns as they wish. Monster hunters being one of the most sought out specialists in the land, freelance or professional, for good pay. Goblins, orcs, and other sentient monsters are – unlike in the Empire – discriminated against and killed on sight by the military or mercenaries. Outside of that, typical species of animal are found in the grasslands, forests, deserts, mountains, and seas (ie, in an alternate reality, equivalent to Europe/ North America).

Economy and Politics

The system adopted by Vallonde uses the gold, silver, copper, and platinum system present since time immemorial as its primary currency. Opton Banking, the banking monopoly of Ellonde, under Pipper Diles, holds a monopoly here. However, the old system of bartering is still allowed to function at present.

The political system consists of the King of Vallonde, Ered IX, who is located in Windar, and the Lords of the five vassal states, each ruling at the states capitals (one of the major cities of Vallonde). The court system runs on a feudal basis, with the Lords having final say in their domains, and the King having final say in the nation. A court also exists in each vassal state and the kings palace, where all decisions are made through discussion. As Vallonde is primarily human, humans are the only representatives in the nations ruling class.

Foreign Relations and Military

The military of Vallonde consists of King Ered’s personal army, raised from levies in his court; the levies raised from the lords of the vassal states; and hired mercenaries who work for the Kingdom. Vallonde is the greatest threat to the Erelian Empire, but with the empires forces numbering nearly 60 times greater than the states, there is little it can do. Though there is crude magic and both ranged and melee weapons used, they are ineffective against the Empires superior technology. Still, Vallonde has the strongest standing army outside the Empire, and the strongest navy outside it as well. However, the constant losses have brought around talks of forcing a mandatory draft of all citizens in the nation, regardless of race, gender, etc.

Vallonde is allied with the Republic and the other monarchical states, and fighting the Erelian Empire. Mobe also maintains a border force against the Forlande wastelands, and mercenaries or private monster hunters are hired to track and kill monsters.
